Keeping tabs on the Sangh Parivar (family)

Sangh Parivar refers to the family of organizations owing allegiance to (and in most cases, led by) the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Parivar is Hindi for family, and just like in Hindi films, the Sangh family is also led by a patriarch — the sarsanghchalak (supreme head) of the RSS. The members of the Sangh Parivar are usually legally independent, and those outside India are understandably not forthcoming about their membership in the family. This blog seeks to connect the dots and expose these organizations for what they are; its immediate impetus was the release of a report on the Hindu Students Council: Lying Religiously: The Hindu Students Council and the Politics of Deception

I accept full responsibility for the views expressed here; groups that I am affiliated with don’t necessarily share these views.
